Francis Masères

Francis Masères was an English lawyer, mathematician, judge, member of the Royal Society, a baron of the exchequer and the attorney general of the Province of Quebec. He was sympathetic to colonial rights and contended for the representation of the colonies in the House of Commons. He supported the efforts of the American sympathizer, French Canadian Pierre du Calvet, to restrain the harsh policies of Quebec Governor Frederick Haldimand.
