Benjamin Lincoln, Jr. (1756–1788) was an American lawyer and political writer from Massachusetts best known for his series of essays on republican government originally published in The Independent Chronicle under the pseudonym “The Free Republican.” A Harvard graduate and practicing attorney in Boston, he engaged deeply with post-Revolutionary political debates on mixed government and constitutional balance while moving in influential legal and political circles of his time.
