Jean-Jacques Burlamaqui

Jean-Jacques Burlamaqui (1694-1748) was born in Geneva to a wealthy and politically well-connected patrician family. He became professor of natural law at the Academy of Geneva and popularized the ideas of Pufendorf by writing and teaching in French rather than Latin.
