Dugald Stewart
1753 – 1828
Stewart was a Scottish philosopher who studied at Edinburgh University, becoming first professor of mathematics and then later succeeding Adam Smith as professor of moral philosophy. He was a Whig who favored the early stage of the French Revolution.
