Johnson Kent Wright is an associate professor in the school of civil and economic thought at Arizona State University and a former editor of the journal French Historical Studies.

He is the author of A Classical Republican in Eighteenth-Century France: The Political Thought of Mably (Stanford University Press, 1997), as well as articles and essays on French political thought in the 18th century and on historiography in the 19th and 20th centuries. He is completing a book on the Atlantic Revolutions and launching another on the place of the idea of “the Enlightenment” in modern thought.
