The Italian-born economist was part of the Cambridge group of Marxists during the interwar period. He joind Keynes in opposing Hayek’s theory of the business cycle. He was an advocate of Ricardo’s economic views and helped the Royal Society edited Ricardo’s complete works, the first volume of which appeared in 1951.
