Robert Wallace was known by contemporaries as a leading light of Scottish philosophical circles, along with Henry Home, Hugh Blair and other writers on religious, scientific and philosophical subjects.

Bio

Wallace is best remembered today for his work on population growth which later influenced Thomas Malthus, but he also commented on British policy towards the colonies, contending largely in favor of the American position.
