Marco Romani

Marco Romani Mistretta is Director of European Operations at the Paideia Institute for Humanistic Study, where he manages a portfolio of educational travel programs in Italy, France, and Greece. He received a MA and PhD in Classical Philology from Harvard University, with a dissertation focusing on the idea of invention and discovery in the ancient Mediterranean world (particularly Plato and the Greek scientific tradition). His work has appeared in Gaia, the Classical Quarterly, and the International Journal of the Classical Tradition among other outlets.

Besides being the author of several research publications, he peer-reviews article submissions for Sage Business Cases and regularly guest-lectures at Rome & Sapienza University. Over the course of his career, he has taught a number of undergraduate and graduate courses on classical languages, Greco-Roman intellectual history, and science in antiquity. He maintains an active research agenda alongside his business commitments, and enjoys delivering talks at academic conferences worldwide.
