George Thomason

George Thomason (??-1666) was a London bookseller and friend of the poet John Milton who collected 23,000 books, pamphlets and newspapers between 1641 and 1662. The Thomason Collection is an unparalleled collection which documents the political and economic struggles between Parliament and the Crown during the Civil Wars, Revolution, Protectorate, and Restoration. It is currently housed in the British Library in London.
