The Richard III Society has long believed that the villainous portrait of Richard drawn by Shakespeare and by Thomas More is inaccurate.

Josephine Tey’s classic murder mystery The Daughter of Time sets a bed-ridden modern detective on a hunt through historical documents to determine if Richard III really was responsible for the murders of his young nephews.

Season two of the mini-series The Hollow Crown adapted Shakespeare’s second tetralogy (all three of the Henry VI plays and Richard III) into a three episode series, preserving much of the original language of the plays.
