A Manifesto. Fabian Tracts No. 2 (1884)

The “Fabian Society” was founded in England in 1884 with the aim of bringing about a socialist society by means of intellectual debate, the publication of books and pamphlets, and the “permeation” of socialist ideas into the universities, the press, government institutions, and political parties. The playwright George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) was one of the founding members and wrote the “Manifesto” of the Society which was their “Tract No. 2.”
