William Edward Burghardt (W.E.B.) Du Bois

William Edward Burghardt (W.E.B.) Du Bois (1815 –1902) was an author, sociologist, and civil rights activist. He was the first Black American to receive a PhD from Harvard University. He was a co-founder of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
