His endless curiosity has led him to studying Zimbabwe’s economy, welfare benefits, property rights, electronic medical records and housing markets. The common theme is how regulations can sometimes lead to unintended consequences and perverse incentives. He has published widely in academic journals and news outlets including Public Choice, Journal of Private Enterprise, Regulation, The Wall Street Journal, and Forbes, and has enjoyed guesting on podcasts around these topics. He has also served as executive producer/lead researcher for two economics-themed documentaries and is working on a third. He graduated with honors in economics from Kenyon College and earned a PhD in economics from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
