BOLL 7: Adam Smith, “On Free Trade” (1776)
This is part of “The Best of the Online Library of Liberty” which is a collection of some of the most important material in the OLL. This one comes from Adam Smith’s “Wealth of Nations” in which he defends the idea of free trade. It is in this context that he introduces his powerful notion of “the invisible hand.”
