BOLL 7: Adam Smith, “On Free Trade” (1776)

This is part of “The Best of the Online Library of Liberty” which is a collection of some of the most important material in the OLL. This one comes from Adam Smith’s *Wealth of Nations” in which he defends the idea of free trade. It is in this context that he introduces his powerful notion of “the invisible hand.”
