About the Author

A Member of Parliament and supporter of free trade who edited Cobden’s wrtiings and wrote pamphlets for the Cobden Club. Mallet also wrote a lengthy essay on the political thought of Richard Cobden in the introduction to the Political Writings of Richard Cobden.
