We welcome feedback from teachers and librarians on how we can improve the teaching and learning resources at the OLL. You can help us in the following ways:
- giving us feedback on what we already offer in the way of bibliographies, reading guides, syllabi, and other teaching resources in The Forum
- suggesting new material which we would be happy to put online, such as course reading guides and syllabi for courses which you currently teach and which use material in the OLL. Email us with a list of your titles/chapters and we would be happy to create a linked list for you.
Our future plans to expand the teaching and learning resources in the OLL include the following:
- the ability for a teacher to create their own customized course reading lists by browsing the books, chapters, and essays in the OLL, selecting those that are appropriate, and having this selection appear as a custom-built page with links to the texts and which would be listed in one of our navigation menus. The teacher would then only have give to the page's URL to the students for them to have access to the course reading list.
- to provide full down-loadable MARC records for all the titles in the OLL. Some enterprising librarian (unknown to us) has already created MARC records on WorldCat for about 170 of our titles. We would like to have MARC records for all our nearly 1,000 titles and to make them freely available for download so any library could add them to their collection. We are currently exploring ways to do this but if you would like to volunteer your cataloging services in the meantime, please let us know.
