The Liberty Fund, Inc. was founded 50 years ago in 1960 by the successful Indiana businessman and lawyer Pierre F. Goodrich (1894-1973). For more information about him and Liberty Fund see:
The Online Library of Liberty is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of Liberty Fund in 1960 with a number of new features added to the website. They include:
- the 50th Anniversary Edition of the Portable Library of Liberty data DVD (5th, 2010 edition; publication date February 14)
- the Quotations about Liberty and Power collection: a compilation of all the quotes of the week which have appeared on the front page of the OLL since its inception in March 2004. This collection also appears of the 5th edition of the Portable Library of Liberty data DVD which was published in February 2010.
- 50th Anniversary Anthologies of Liberty Fund Books: these are anthologies of Liberty Fund published books which are designed to showcase LF's publishing history over the past 50 years. A full list of LF titles can be found on the online catalog from which they can be purchased. Those LF titles which are also available online can be found here. The 50th Anniversary Anthologies can be found under "Interdisciplinary" in the Reading List section of the OLL. So far we have the following:
- 50th Anniversary Conferences/Reading Lists: Liberty Fund will be restaging during 2010 some of the earliest conferences which were organized in the early days of the fund's existence. Where we have the bulk of the readings online we have produced Reading Lists for them:
