Sir,

I am happy that the sentiments which I expressed, on the occasion of the late discussion in the House of Commons on religious freedom2 are approved by you: I trust I shall ever be found advocating the same cause, whenever it shall be submitted to the consideration of the House.

With respect to the publication of the letter, which you have done me the honour to address to me, in the Republican, you will be so good as to decide on the expediency yourself: being a friend to free discussion I leave every one to praise or censure my public conduct as he may think fit.
