Dear Sir

I am obliged to be in the City to-morrow which will prevent me from meeting you in the morning. I shall take my chance of finding you in the Green Park on Saturday at the usual hour.

Yrs. very faithfully

David Ricardo

[2 ]Addressed: ‘Jeremy Bentham Esqr.’. Docketed by Bentham—‘1820 May 18 Ricardo Upp Brook Str to JB. Q.S.P. Appointment to walk.’—Not passed through the post.

MS at University College, London, Bentham Papers, Case No. 165, ‘Correspondence respecting Chrestomathic School’.

From other letters (ib., unpublished) it appears that they were to discuss the lease of the site in Bentham’s garden in Queen Square Place on which the school was to be built.
