Cantata XCI.
Gelobet seist du, Jesu Christ. Christmas Day (c. 1740)
A Choral Cantata, on Luther’s Christmas Hymn, “Gelobet seist du, Jesu Christ” (see Cantata 64). The melody of the three Choral movements of the Cantata is that of the Hymn (see Cantata 64).

The words of the opening movement are the first stanza of the Hymn: - Gelobet seist du, Jesu Christ!
- Dass du Mensch geboren bist
- Von einer Jungfrau, das ist wahr,
- Dess freuet sich der Engel Schaar.
- Kyrie eleis!
