Mr Smith presents his most respectful compliments to Lady Frances Scot: is extremely obliged to her Ladyship for her attention in sending him his paper upon Italian and English Verse,1 and will certainly not forget his promise to send her a more perfect copy as soon as he has compleated his plan: It will, however, be some time before he can set about it, as he is at present very much engaged in another business;2 which it is not in his power to delay.
