PUBLICATIONS OF THE CAMDEN SOCIETY.

New Series.

Till lately it has not been the practice of the Society to offer its current publications for sale to the general public; but to accommodate those who do not desire to become Members, it has been thought advisable to issue a priced list of the Books of the New Series begun in the year 1871, so that single volumes of this as well as of the Old Series may be had separately on application to Messrs. Nichols and Sons, 25, Parliament Street, of whom they may henceforth be procured through any bookseller.

The following are the books of the New Series from its commencement:—

1. The Fortescue Papers, principally consisting of letters on State affairs, collected by John Packer, Secretary to George Villiers, Duke of Buckingham. Edited by Samuel Rawson Gardiner, Esq. LL.D. Director. 5s.

Consists chiefly of a miscellaneous collection of letters which were apparently thrown aside by the Duke of Buckingham after he had read them. One paper is of peculiar importance as relating to Raleigh’s trial.

Valuable as throwing light on the practical working of our institutions and the administration of the law in the reign of Henry VI.

Full of notices of English Musicians connected with the Chapel, and of minute particulars of royal ceremonies, funerals, coronations, churchings, baptisms, marriages, &c.

Contains particulars not in other chronicles of the period. The Editor has printed in an Appendix to the First Volume the records of the trial of Anne Boleyn.
