ADVERTISEMENT.Under the sanction of Congress, this new edition of Madison’s Debates of the Federal Convention, held in 1787, has been prepared, revised, and the matter remodelled agreeably to the consecutive order of the subject. Thus, by a new arrangement of the Debates, greater convenience, more ready reference, with increased utility, have been obtained; and the whole subject of the Confederation, Debates, and Correspondence, (confined to the Constitution on the latter head,) is thus brought together within the compass of a single volume, presented, it will be seen, in a bold and conspicuous type, uniform in the size of the page with the four volumes of the new edition of Elliot’s Debates, which, by the compilation of a fifth (the present volume) completes the entire series on our constitutional history. |
