DALLAS

DALLAS, George Mifflin, was born at Philadelphia, Penn., July 10, 1792, where he died, Dec. 31, 1864. He was graduated at Princeton, in 1810, was admitted to the bar, was United States senator (democrat) 1831-3, minister to Russia 1837-9, vice-president of the United States 1844-8, and minister to Great Britain Feb. 4-May 16, 1861.
