Simone Zurbuchen is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. Zurbuchen is the author of Naturrecht und natürliche Religion. Zur Geschichte des Toleranzbegriffs von Samuel Pufendorf bis Jean-Jacques Rousseau (Natural Law and Natural Religion. On the Concept of Toleration from Samuel Pufendorf to Jean-Jacques Rousseau), 1991, a major work in its field. She has also published several articles on eighteenth-century philosophy, politics, and religion, and is the author of a major chapter on religion and society in The Cambridge History of Eighteenth-Century Philosophy (forthcoming).
