Topic: General Treatises on Economics

This is a collection of general works on the principles of economic thought. They are ususally one volume treatments of economics in which the author presents the basic assumptions about economic life and human behaviour on which economics is based; the main principles of the discipline; how the different branches of economics are related; and the author’s own bias or perspective on the discipline. Some of these works were written for popular audiences (such as Hodgskin and Bastiat) whilst others were written for those with a strong economics background (Mill, Marx, Menger).
